Digha&Talsari – An easy to reach weekend destination
DIGHA
The most popular sea beach of west Bengal is Digha. Vast Bay of Bengal, numerous boulders, wide sea beach, varied tourists – these all combine together and add to the eternal attraction of Digha. Throughout the years tourists come and enjoy this beach. The casuarina and palm trees along the beach add greenery to this spot. You can walk or hire a van rickshaw to reach Udaipur Beach.

How to reach there
Though there are many buses those go to Digha from Kolkata and suburbs but Train is the best mode of transportation. It provides better comfort than buses.

TALSARI
Talsari of Orissa can be reached from Digha. It is not as crowded as Digha. One can avoid the crowd of Digha and spend a weekend in Talsari. This place is famous for watching the sunrise in the morning. Pollution free nature refreshes your mind and body.
Orissa tourism has built a beautiful resort in Talsari. This place is surrounded by casuarina trees. During ebb water rises and covers the beach and at the time of tide it looks that the sea has moved back. One can walk on the vast virgin beach of Talsari. The confluence point where river Subarnarekha meets Bay of Bengal is not far away.
Fishermen venture into the sea to catch fish. There is a concrete structure near the beach which transform into a fish market in the morning.
Serenity and silence are treasured in Talsari. While walking on the beach you can see moving red crabs. If you want you can hire a bike and enjoy a speeding ride.

From Kolkata, one can reach Digha by Train or Bus. From Digha station take a motorcar to reach Talsari.

Orissa Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) owns a resort in Talsari, known as panthanivas. This is the best option for staying in Talsari. The Tariff of non-Ac double bedded room is Rs. 800 per day, AC-double bedded room Rs. 1400 per day and AC-Suit Rs. 2750 per day.
