Green Chicken Recipe

Green Chicken is a famous north Indian chicken dish. This light spicy chicken dish tastes great with nan or parathas (Indian flat bread).


Serves For 3

1. Chicken: 500 gms

2. Spinach: 2 bundles

3. Coriander leaves: half cup

4. Fresh cream: 3 tablespoon

5. Onion paste: 3 tablespoon

6. Garlic paste: 1 tablespoon

7. Ginger paste: 1/2 tablespoon

8. Green chilies: 4-5pieces

9. Lemon juice: 2 teaspoon

10. Salt n sugar as per taste


Step1: Take only the leaves of the spinach and boil them in a large vessel for about 10mins. Remove it from heat and cool it down.

Step 2: Make a paste of spinach green chillies and coriander in a grinder and keep it aside.

Step 3: Boil the chicken pieces with some salt and keep it aside.

Step 4: In a kadai(wok) pour some oil and add the dry chilies into it, followed by the boiled chicken pieces.

Step 5: Fry it for some time then add the onion paste ginger and garlic paste along with some lemon juice one by one and stir for about 7-8mins till the raw smell goes away.

Step 6: Pour the entire spinach paste and again stir continuously for 5-6mins.

Step 7: Cover the lid and simmer for about 10mins.

Step 8: Open the lid and check the salt.

Step 9: At last pour the fresh cream and turn off the gas.

Serve with hot nan or parathas.
