Weekend Eating Out at Chowman, Kolkata

Are you a Chinese cuisine lover? Then you must be aware of the restaurant chain Chowman which has got popularity recently. After hearing tons of praises from our friends, last Sunday, four of us went to the Chowman, Patuli, one of the most recent branches of the restaurant chain. And the experience was as expected.

Getting There

We went there by car; however, you can go there by bus also. The restaurant is just opposite of the Welland Goldsmith School, Patuli. Any buses that went to Garia via Baisnabghata patuli go there.

The Ambiance

The décor of the restaurant reminded us about the traditional Chinese decorations. On the both side of the entrance there sited two dragons (of course, not the real ones, but sculptures). On the roof there is lots of multi color Chinese lantern hanging, giving the place a traditional look.

Inside the restaurant, there is a sculpture of Lord Budhha at the middle. Some good Chinese paintings and six traditional big bells are also there.

The Food

The food was good and the main thing they serve really fast. The waiters welcome us cordially and they have good knowledge about the food. At least, in our case their suggestions were quite helpful.

We ordered Chicken coriander lemon Thai soup, chili garlic hakka chow-min, chicken fried rice and Kung pao chicken. All the items are good to taste but I specially loved the soup; it was simply awesome.

The cost for four person was approximately Rs1300 including taxes. So, all in a nutshell, you can consider this place as a pocket friendly Chinese dine out option.
