If you love beaches like me Goa is the perfect destination for you. My trip to Goa had been outstanding. We really hopped from one beach to another. Being a beach lover, I found each and every beach has got its own features of attraction. Variety is easy to spot. Beaches of Goa doesn’t only mean  Sea, Sand & Sun but many more.

As the location of Goa is easily accessible from Mumbai, Filmmakers from Bollywood have quite often chosen Goa for filming the song sequences, And one the most chosen beaches have been Anjuna or Vagator Beach.

The Beach:

This was the first picture I took when we reached Anjuna Beach. There is an extended part of this beach which is like a hilly terrain and full with coconut trees. The shadows of the terraced coconut plantations add contrast to the silver white sand and greenish blue water of the sea. The abundant natural beauty is the main cause behind the repeated visits of the film producers of Bollywood and South India.

The beach gets its name from the adjacent picturesque Anjuna village of North Goa. This beach is actually quite huge divided into three parts; South, Middle, and North.

There are uneven rocks on the middle of the beach. It felt good standing on those rocks. The gushing water frantically hitting the rocks sprinkling water on me.

Flea Market:

Anjuna beach is famous for its Wednesday flea market. On the way to the beach from the main road is the location of the flea market. Every Wednesday people from north Goa come to this place and sometimes it cause a huge traffic problem. But the place becomes so colorful and comes to live. By spending some time in this market,  one gets to taste the slice of life lived by the people of Goa.

Flea Market

History tells us that once this place was infested with Hippies. In 1970 they started this market. The Nightlife of Anjuna beach is also famous because there are so many bars and restaurants around this beach.

Getting there:

Anjuna beach is 18 Kilometer away from Panaji, the capital of Goa. The nearest airport is Dabolim  which is 47 Kilometer away. The railway station Thivim is 19 kilometer away.

It’s better to stay at Calangute and visit Anjuna by car. It takes 25 minutes by car from Calangute to reach Anjuna Beach.
